It started with a kiss...

After March 2020 changed everything, the TCMC co-founders took a leap of faith, armed themselves with 40L backpacks, and booked a one-way ticket to Malaysia.

Six months later they returned to rainy-grey UK with a phone full of photos, several compromising tan lines and, most importantly, a new-found love of all things mushroom.

In everything, everywhere, all at once…

Shiitake, oyster, lion’s mane, enokitake - mushrooms are everywhere in Asia. From high-end Michelin-style posh eats, to truck stalls run round the back of a petrol station with questionable hygiene practices, one simple ingredient was found wherever we went.

Delicious, incredibly versatile, anti-cancer and cholesterol-lowering, with some species able to fight off everything from HIV to Alzheimer’s, we began to wonder why us Brits hadn’t yet cottoned on to the wonder of a mushroom-powered diet.

Curiouser and curiouser…

Inspired by our findings, we tracked down copies of every grower’s guide going and began to build up our mushroom farming knowledge.

Soon overwhelmingly invested, our company name and logo were decided on, certificate of incorporation sent for, and business premises located. All that was left to do was the simple matter of growing the things, and figuring out who on earth we were going to sell them to.

After months of planning and prep, our farm and mushroom labs have been up and running since September 2023.

Leave no, or at the very least less, trace…

As the world we live in becomes more and more conscious of what we consume and how we consume it, foodies are falling under the funghi spell, and realising what treasures mushrooms have to offer us all.

We think that’s a great thing, and we’re proud to be part of the mushroom revolution. The Mushrolution, if you will.
